This variety is considered to be rare in it's natural environment. The pods can easily reach 3 inches long and one inch wide. Pods start out black and stay black then turn maroon red when fully rip. They can be eaten at any stage, and many people prefer this type of pepper for frying due to the thick meaty flesh. 65 days
